I own a car and to save on insurance we put the car in my brothers name as I was currently living with him, Now I am wanting to move, he keeps refusing to put the car back in my name and said if i drove it hes calling the cops, I got papers where I paid for the car, so if I move and take the car can he get me for stealing it, and whats the legal thingto do so I can get my car back? This is pennsylvania, its like they are keeping my trapped in the home because my car is my transportation for myself, and my son. thanks
Dan

I **** to break this to you, but if the car is in his name, it is NOT your car…it’s his. And he can do whatever he wants with it because he OWNS it.
You put it in his name to try to “cheat” on the insurance. And, that’s what you got for it.
If it’s in his name, it’s his car. Doesn’t matter who paid for it; he can claim you gave it to him.
About the best you can do is to disown your brother. I wouldn’t have anything to do with anyone who steals from me family or not. Also, if you are still living with him and get mail at his address you could “accidentally” break things of his that equal the value of your car. It may be childish but damn revenge can be fun.
