How much is a fine for littering in Pennsylvania?

A couple weeks ago, I absent mindedly tossed a cigarette carton out of my car window. Stupid mistake. Tomorrow is my appointment with the District Judge to set the fine, and I’d like to know what to expect. I read that scattering of rubbish in Pennsylvania is a “No less than $50, no more than $300 fine,” but I saw that throwing it out of a vehicle could cost you no more than $900. Now $50 to $900 is a pretty wide margin, and I would like an idea of what a Cigarette BOX on a rural street in Pennsylvania could get me. I’m a bit worried, because I have to pay for a new radiator, and car insurance is coming right around the corner. Any idea at all would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I hope you have to pay $900.
it is no more than 300
Were you sited under the STATE littering law or a LOCAL ordinance? The maximum fine differs based on the specific law you are charged with violating. A first offense tend to receive a smaller fine. Repeat offenses tend to receive larger fines.
